The Youngest Person In Space

The record for the youngest person in space depends on how you class an astronaut or a space tourist.

Oliver Daemen - Youngest Space Tourist

Oliver Daemen was fortunate enough to have the stars align for him when he became the youngest space tourist in history. Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon and a passionate billionaire, offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join him on his low earth orbit project through Blue Origin.

Initially, Justin Sun was declared the winner of the highly publicized auction, with bids reaching $28 million. However, he decided to defer his attendance to a later flight. As a result, Oliver's father, Joes Daemen, secured the ticket for his son, and he was able to make history.

Daemen, a Dutch space tourist, was part of the Blue Origin NS-16 spaceflight on July 20, 2021. He made history as the youngest person, first teenager, and first person born in the 21st century to travel to space. At the time of the flight, he was 18 years old. Daemen holds a pilot's license, adding to his experience and qualifications for the trip.
